The three Rabbonim of the Crown Heights Beis Din have jointly called for an increase in Tefilla and Tzedaka during the upcoming fast day of Shiva Asar B’Tamuz to avert the regulations to traditional chinuch that New York State Department of Education seeks to impose.

The Rabbonim have recommended reciting special kapitlach of Tehillim – 20, 22, 69, 118, 150 – and to give extra tzedaka. Children should also participate, as they have special spiritual powers.

The letter follows a call by numerous other frum communities to utilize the fast day to daven for the regulations to be cancelled.
