Rabbi Yehuda Shomer, a young father from Pittsburgh, passed away Wednesday night, Rosh Chodesh Nissan, 5783.
He was 32 years old.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Rabbi Shomer served as a teacher in Yeshiva Schools and Hillel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was known for being passionate about chinuch, and for giving over his lessons in a creative and engaging manner.
He is survived by his daughters Menucha and Chaya.
He is also survived by his father R’ Moshe Shomer of Milford, CT; Mother Rivka Shomer – Toronto. Siblings Avremi Shomer – Toronto; Faigy Chapley – Cleveland, OH; Yisroel Shomer – Las Vegas, NV; Shalom Shomer – Detroit, MI; Yossi Shomer – Brooklyn, NY; Chaim Shomer – Toronto; Dovid Shomer – Toronto; and Eli Shomer – Cleveland, OH.
The Levaya will take place today, Thursday, passing by 770 at approximately 12:15 pm, and kevurah at Old Montefiore Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
R’ Moshe Shomer will be sitting shiva at his home 17 B Merwin Avenue, Milford, CT 06460.
R’ Yossi Shomer will be sitting shiva at his home 139 E 38th St. Between Lenox and Linden. Friday from 10-12, and next week 1-3 and 7-9.
