Rabbi Avraham Golovacheov, a dedicated shliach in Berlin, Germany, who served as a teacher and director of Russian-speaking programs, passed away on Monday, Chol HaMoed Pesach, 19 Nisan.
Rabbi Avraham Golovacheov, a dedicated shliach in Berlin, Germany, who served as a teacher and director of Russian-speaking programs, passed away on Monday, Chol HaMoed Pesach, 19 Nisan.
Earlier this year, the Berlin community gathered for a siyum Sefer Torah written in his merit. He passed away on Monday morning following a serious illness, which he battled with extraordinary strength and heroism.
Rabbi Golovacheov served as the Director of Russian-Speaking Programs and ran a yeshiva for beginners at the Chabad community in Berlin, led by Rabbi Yehuda Teichtal. He was a beloved teacher at the local Jewish school and oversaw numerous publications through “Juedisches” Publications.
The Berlin community will be reciting Tehillim tonight at his side at the Chabad Berlin Synagogue (Münstersche Straße 6) from 7:00 PM until 7:00 AM tomorrow morning.
Levayah and shiva information will be announced.
He is survived by his wife, Chana, and their children, Sterna Sara, Sholom Dovber, Shmuel, Mendel, Schneur, and Yossi.
