R’ Yosef Yitzchok Greenglass, son of Montreal mashpia Reb Volf Greenglass, who served as a fundraiser for the Yeshiva in Montreal, passed away on Shabbos.
R’ Yosef Yitzchok Greenglass who served as a fundraiser for the Yeshiva in Montreal, passed away on Shabbos, 28 Teves, 5782.
He was 62 years old.
R’ Yosef Yitzchak (Yossi) was son of Reb Volf Greenglass, the renowned mashpia who survived the Holocaust by fleeing to Shanghai, and went on to teach thousands in Tomchei Tmimim Montreal, after being sent there by the Frierdiker Rebbe.
R’ Yossi served as a fundraiser for the Yeshiva, and was an active member of the Chabad community there, always ready to share a chassidishe vort or a story from chassidim of generations past.
He is survived by his sister Mrs. Surie Cohen, and his brother Avrohom Greenglass, both of Montreal.
Levaya will take place in on Sunday at Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim Montreal, 6405 Westbury, at 1:15 PM.
Baruch Dayan Haemet. He was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed. I wish that we could have spent more time together. May his memory be a blessing.
