In an atmosphere filled with inspiration, on Sunday – Yud Daled Kislev, the wedding anniversary of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka a”h, Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch Queens launched its ‘Neiros Leho’ir’ campaign at a moving event at Eshel Hall.
The special occasion united parents and supporters around a shared vision: continuing to develop the Torah excellence that has become the Yeshiva’s hallmark.
Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld skillfully emceed the evening, inspiring the audience with words about the essence of a Tomim. He invited Rabbi Zalman Liberow, a member of the Yeshiva’s board, to lead the recitation of the Rebbe’s kapitel of Tehillim.
“Our Yeshiva isn’t just an educational institution – it’s a spiritual lighthouse for the entire community,” emphasized Rabbi Zalman Mergui in a moving speech. Rabbi Asher Vaknin praised the bochurim who spread Yiddishkeit and Chassidus every Shabbos in Queens’ shuls. Their words gained special resonance when a specially produced video revealed the bochurim’s significant impact across New York.
A highlight of the evening was the speech by Mr. Mike Yakubov, representing the ba’alei batim, who pledged $26,000 and called upon the community to unite around this noble cause: “This isn’t just a donation – it’s a partnership in building the next generation of Jewish leadership.”
The Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Sholom Dovid Geisinsky, spoke about the unique purity of the talmidim and their enthusiasm both in learning and spreading Yiddishkeit throughout the city. He said with emotion: “At special moments like these, each of us can become part of something greater. Your support today will echo for generations.”
The General Director, Rabbi Menachem Mendel HaKohen Hendel, provided an overview of the Yeshiva’s development and emphasized the crucial need for parental partnership in the Yeshiva’s success and growth.
Rabbi Menachem Baruch, the Yeshiva’s financial director, concluded the evening with a heartfelt appeal: “When contributing to a Yeshiva that prepares talmidim for shlichus – every donation today is a direct investment in tomorrow’s leaders.”
The Yeshiva has launched a special donation platform, enabling everyone to become a partner in the institution’s ongoing success. Parents have committed to raising at least one day’s worth of support for the Yeshiva.
Every contribution, large or small, is part of the broader tapestry of support for pure Torah education, about which the Rebbe said is the guaranteed means for special salvation and protection for children!
