Project Kiddush Levana in Memory of Fallen Soldier

A new initiative has been launched in memory of Shneur Zalman Ben Chaim Zev Cohen HY”D encouraging yeshivos, shluchim, and communities to celebrate Kiddush Levana in their city streets.

This past Shabbos, Parshas Noach, the Rebbe says in the famous sicha of Noach 5752 that when we realize how close Moshiach is, it should be expressed by adding in “Extra zehirus and hidur in Kiddush Levana.”

Specifically, the Rebbe spoke about doing Kiddush Levana in the street, Berov Am Hadras Melech, with nice clothing, and to make sure to do it with kavana to hasten the coming of Moshiach.

It is to this end, that a generous Chossid has sponsored a raffle of $100 cash, in memory of Shneur Zalman Ben Chaim Zev Cohen HY”D, for the all yeshivos/shluchim/communities that will organize Kiddush Levana in the street of their city.

It is as simple as 1,2,3:
1) Hang up signs all over town inviting the community to your Kiddush Levana
2) Arrange your Kiddush Levana to be in the street, with music and dancing
3) Send in pictures
And you will be eligible to enter the raffle!

The money may be spent on the expenses of arranging Kiddush Levana or any other Peulos that you would like to do.

“The Project Kiddush Levana will be uniting 100’s of communities around the globe in making a Koch in Kiddush Levana, the way the Rebbe wants it,” the organizers said.

“This month we are dedicating the Project in memory of Shneur Zalman Ben Chaim Zev Cohen HY”D, a Tomim who was on fire in the Rebbe’s Inyanim, and was killed in Gaza in the middle of protecting Am Yisroel. To quote a line he said that was put on TV, “Yes Chareidy, or no Chareidy – I’m a Chabad’nik! I’m here on the Shlichus of the Rebbe!”
