Postville N’shei Holds Unifying Challah Bake for Eretz Yisroel

The women in the Postville, Iowa N’shei Chabad arranged a beautiful Challah Bake event for all the women in the community.

Last year, in response to the Rebbe’s call for increased achdus events during Shnas Hakhel,
N’shei of Postville, Iowa made a monthly Hakhel event. These beautiful events consisted of
speakers, delicious food, activities, crafts, and most importantly, achdus for the women of the
community.

As the year ended, the N’shei organizers knew that ending these events was not an option. We
live in a way of ma’alin bakodesh and therefore, N’shei achdus events have continued.

This past week kicked off the first event of the year. In honor of Yud Alef Cheshvan, the
yahrtzeit of Rochel Imainu, and as a zchus for Eretz Yisroel, over thirty women joined together
for a Challah Bake.

Everyone arrived to beautifully set tables with all the ingredients premeasured and ready. Next to each place was also a recipe card to ensure that the dough could be made with ease.

After everyone finished making their dough, the next part of the program began. Everyone said
Tehillim together and gave tzedakah, knowing that their tefillos have a real impact on the
situation of our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel.

Postville was lucky to have a guest speaker in town, Mrs. Doba Levin, longtime shlucha of the
Rebbe in Kensington, New York. Mrs. Levin inspired the crowd with a firsthand story of what it
means to go where Hashem directs you. She spoke about the concept of elevating the sparks of
kedusha no matter where you are.

Riding the power of the speech, everyone davened for the hostages and soldiers and were then
mafrish challah as a group. Everybody went home feeling uplifted and unified.
