A groundbreaking achievement in Olam HaYeshivos as Pomona bochurim mastered Masechtos Gitin, Bava Basra, and Kesubos ba’al peh, and were tested on all three b’vas achas.

Pomona bochurim receive certificates and seforim gift cards acknowledging their extraordinary dedication after three years of rigorous learning and structured chazara, which culminated in an unprecedented ba’al peh test on Masechtos Gitin, Bava Basra, and Kesubos, totaling nearly 400 blatt, all b’vas achas.

Some bochurim were tested on Kesubos, others also on Bava Basra, and a select group on all three Masechtos. Over several months, they first completed thorough written tests on each individual Masechta. This culminated in a grand oral farher, during which they were examined ba’al peh on all three together; a level of achievement never before seen in Olam HaYeshivos. This remarkable milestone surely brings the Rebbe tremendous nachas, and other Yeshivos will likely emulate Pomona’s approach.

The ba’al peh farher was conducted by Rabbi Mendel Bluming, Magid Shiur at Westchester Yeshiva. During the farher, the bochurim demonstrated exceptional clarity, fluency, and retention across all three Masechtos, showcasing the results of years of disciplined learning and consistent chazara. Their performance was a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to Torah.

This milestone was made possible through the guidance of the Yeshiva’s leadership and Magidei Shiur. Rabbi Yoseph Vigler, Dean, played a key role in establishing the structured study process, and Rabbi Nochum Labkowski, Menahel, guided the bochurim throughout the three-year journey. Our dedicated Magidei Shiur, Rabbi Naftali Zaltzman, Rabbi Berish Rotenberg, and Rabbi Chonon Mann, provided careful guidance, personal attention, and tireless mentorship that enabled the bochurim to reach this extraordinary level of mastery.

The success of the Pomona bochurim is a powerful kiddush Hashem and a testament to the unique derech halimud developed at Tomchei Temimim Pomona. It illustrates how perseverance, thoughtful guidance, and structured chazara can bring out the full potential of every talmid and positions the Yeshiva as a place where talmidim thrive academically while growing in character, devotion, and love of Torah.

  1. Amazing achievement. What surprises me is that it’s a very simple formula. Learn for mastery and accumulative chazara. But what an outcome!
