Photographer Documents Incredible Growth of Rebbe’s Town
What was once a quiet development town has become a bustling hub of Chabad activity, as Kiryat Malachi gets a new 770 replica rising alongside thriving kollelim and daily shiurim in the Rebbe’s town in Eretz Yisroel.
A special visit took place in Kiryat Malachi on Wednesday evening, organized with the support of Rabbi Eliyahu Ezagui. The visit highlighted the impressive momentum and accelerated growth of Chabad institutions throughout the city, most notably the iconic “770” shul.
The delegation was warmly received by the city’s Ashkenazi rabbi, Rabbi Yitzchok Yehuda Yaroslavsky, a central and influential figure in the local rabbinical and communal life. Photographer Mordechai Lubecki documented the visit.
Kiryat Malachi, located approximately 30 minutes by bus via Ashdod and Ashkelon, has experienced exceptional communal vitality in recent years. The visit placed special emphasis on the new “770” building, currently in advanced stages of construction in the Nachas Menachem neighborhood.
The building houses the Tiferes Eliezer Center, led by Rabbi Mendy Lerner. The center includes a magnificent shul, mikveh, daily shiurim, and several kollelim, serving as a significant cornerstone in strengthening the city’s religious and educational infrastructure.
Rabbi Yaroslavsky serves as the Ashkenazi rabbi of Kiryat Malachi and the Nachalas Har Chabad neighborhood. Additionally, he serves as secretary of the Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad in Israel and is a member of Agudas Chassidei Chabad.
