This year’s Kinus Hashluchim might take place in person or virtually, or a combination of the above. Merkos Vice Chairman Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky said it was too early to give a final decision.
In an email to shluchim, Rabbi Kotlarsky wrote that the planning for the upcoming Kinus Hashluchim is well underway.
“The Kinus Vaad is working closely with professionals and Rabbonim to determine in what capacity the Kinus will take place,” he said.
He said that among the options being considered are a completely virtual Kinus, a part virtual and part in-person Kinus, or a completely in-person Kinus.
Those options include a full or partial in person events that will be simultaneously streamed for those who may not be able to attend, local in-person Kinusim in different parts of the world that will be connected through livestream, and a wide variety of options in between.
“There are many different options of programming possibilities that we are preparing for,” Rabbi Kotlarksy wrote in the email, on behalf of the Vaad Hakinus.
Rabbi Kotlarsky wrote that any in person program beings planned will be conducted under strict guidance and approval of Rabbonim and Medical Professionals, the local government, the New York State Health Department, Dr. Eli Rosen and the Crown Heights Gedaliah Society.
“The Vaad has made a strong commitment that no matter what it takes, there will be a full Kinus program,” he said.
“May we be zoche to have this year’s Kinus Hashluchim in the Beis Hamikdash with the Rebbe Brosheinu,” he said.
