Last week, Cheder Ohr Menachem hosted a heartwarming staff appreciation dinner to commemorate the success of a 12-month Shnas Limudim.
The event brought together 25 dedicated educators for an evening of recognition and gratitude, emphasizing the achievements of the last three months, during which the “תורתו אומנתו” initiative was implemented. This initiative saw teachers taking on additional learning responsibilities, further enriching the educational experience, ensuring the final months of Cheder concluded on an all-time high.
The warm atmosphere was enhanced by thoughtful décor and delicious food, prepared with dedication by a group of student mothers, exemplifying the close partnership between parents and teachers at Cheder Ohr Menachem.
The program began with Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz , Menahel of Cheder Ohr Menachem, praising the remarkable successes of the past three months. A slideshow featuring pictures from throughout the year served as a visual testament to the school’s journey.
Three teachers shared their successes and teaching tips:
Rabbi Menachem Nemirovski highlighted his Pre-1 Alef students’ fluency in 100 words with taitch, beautiful handwriting skills, and mastery of a perek of Tanya by heart.
Rabbi Dovber Bryski shared how his Kita Daled students learned two daf with hundreds of Gemara words from Perek Eilu Metzios, achieved fluency in a third of the Taryag Mitzvos, and were tested on 125 concepts from the seven Masechtos Mishnayos studied throughout the year.
Rabbi Levi Belinov reported on his Kita Hey students’ fluency with hundreds of Gemara words and 80 concepts, and celebrated the achievement of 12 Pirkei Tanya memorized by heart in his class and Kita Vov.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel HaCohen Hendel, Menahel Kloli of the Mosdos Ohr Menachem, personally thanked each staff member for their dedication and hard work. He emphasized how the students live the spirit of Moshiach, as presented by the Rebbe in תשנ”א – תשנ”ב sichos, which is only possible due to the Melamdim being saturated with Limud and Darkei HaChassidus. He also announced plans for a special training day for all mosdos together before next Shnas Halimudim.
The evening featured a keynote address by guest speaker Rabbi Yossi Soble, a Cheder parent and member of the Poconos Yeshiva Hanhala, highlighting the success of these teachers is their unwavering dedication, and being role-models in what they preach. It is this emes that shapes the young minds and hearts to form the “Ohr Menachem” talmid!
To commemorate this successful year in Limud HaTorah, each staff member received a special gift – a fabulous Shtender – serving as a tangible reminder of their dedication and impact on their students’ lives.
Rabbi Chanoch Hecht of kita zayen and curriculum coordinator presented plans for the future, where the “V’Shinantam” booklets will be the objective for the melamdim next year!
All melamdim was granted the zechus and geshmak of a “Viewing of the Beis Hamikdash” in special VR googles
The staff appreciation dinner at the Eshel Hall was more than just an event; it was a celebration of Torah learning and the profound impact of dedicated Mechanchim. As the Cheder Ohr Menachem concludes this shnas halimudim, this evening of recognition and gratitude will undoubtedly inspire continued excellence in the years to come.
