A new WhatsApp group has been launched to share letters from the Rebbe in Hebrew and English, opening up a treasure-chest of insight, direction and clarity that we need now more than ever.
By Rabbi Gershon Avtzon, Yeshivas Lubavitch Cincinnati
I would like to share a story with you that I heard from a shliach in Eretz Yisrael. He was approached by a very prominent Rabbi, requesting the newest volume of Igros Kodesh. The shliach asked him the obvious question: “Why Igros? There are Sichos, Maamarim etc.”
The response: “There are many sources for me to learn Torah. There is only one source, where I can see how a Nassi B’Yisrael – a true Moshe Rabbeinu – deals with every issue for every Jew. That source is the Igros Kodesh of the Lubavitcher Rebbe!”
The Igros Kodesh, in addition to being an amazing tool to connect with the Rebbe, is the Rebbe’s correspondence to real people about real-life issues. It is a treasure-chest of insight, direction and clarity that we can all use always, especially in these unprecedented and confusing times.
In memory of the Rebbe’s personal mazkir Rabbi Sholom Mendel Simpson A”H, who was responsible to type up and preserve all the correspondence of the Rebbe, a special initiative was started: to learn a letter of the Rebbe daily.
A WhatsApp group – and broadcast – was started that posts a daily letter of the Rebbe in Hebrew and English (same letter) and inspires hundreds every day.
