New Shluchim to Oakland Park, Florida

After visiting the small but vibrant Jewish community in Oakland Park, Florida, Rabbi Sruli and Faigy Mochkin, together with their daughters, Malka and Rivkah, have now moved to Oakland Park to serve the community.

In connection with the auspicious day of Yud Alef Nissan, we are privileged to report yet another young family joining the ranks of the Rebbe’s Shluchim.

After visiting the small but vibrant Jewish community in Oakland Park, Florida, this past Rosh Hashanah, Rabbi Sruli and Faigy Mochkin saw a tremendous opportunity to help Jewish life grow and flourish.

What began with the High Holidays soon led to a joyful Chanukah celebration and a beautiful, spirited Purim party that brought families and friends together.

Inspired by the warmth and excitement of the community, Rabbi Sruli and Faigy — together with their daughters, Malka and Rivkah — have now moved to Oakland Park to serve the community.

Located in the heart of Broward County, Oakland Park, which was founded in 1929, is currently undergoing a major transformation. Young professionals and families are choosing it as an affordable alternative while maintaining proximity to downtown and the beaches.

Serving a growing and diverse Jewish population of all ages and backgrounds, the Mochkins are dedicated to creating a welcoming, dynamic hub for Jewish connection, learning, and celebration right in the heart of the neighborhood.

The future of Jewish life in Oakland Park is bright — and this is only the beginning.
