A green light was given this past Sunday for a large housing complex to be constructed at the corner of Carroll Street and Troy Avenue to provide accommodations for the thousands of guests expected to visit the Rebbe during the month of Tishrei.
Over the past few weeks, teams have worked to secure all the required official approvals from New York City authorities. Following a joint meeting between the complex’s management and representatives from the city’s Fire Department, the final approvals were granted, clearing the way for the complex to open this year in an organized, legal, and safe manner.
This is the second year the guest housing complex will welcome hundreds of bochurim, offering orderly and secure accommodations under proper conditions. This year, a major innovation has been introduced: instead of one large tent, dozens of modular housing units (caravans) will be installed, providing significantly higher levels of privacy and comfort while continuing to offer safe and inviting lodging for all of the Rebbe’s guests.
The first unit has already been placed on-site, and once it was approved according to plan, the remaining units were ordered and are expected to arrive in the coming weeks, B’ezras Hashem.
