New Lubavitch Mesivta Opening in Northwest Florida

Announcing the exciting new opening of Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida under the auspices of Chabad of the Panhandle, Rabbi Schneur Zalman Oirechman. Led by Rabbi Yoseph Wernick, the Mesivta will deliver a true Chassidishe chinuch in a beautiful rural setting.

Led by distinguished Rabbi and Yeshiva principal, Yoseph Wernick, and under the auspices of Head Shliach Chabad Lubavitch of the Panhandle, Rabbi Schneur Zalman Oirechman, this Yeshiva is nestled in the spectacular “American shtetl” farm community “Dror Acres” (about 75 miles west of the Florida capital Tallahassee), providing a beautiful rural setting including a working farm, in a dedicated religious community.

Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida aims to deliver a true Chassidishe chinuch experience to serious students while living in a safe, wholesome environment surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest and wetlands/streams/springs–free from the distractions and risks of the big city. Whenever necessary, access to the towns and larger cities is a short distance by car. This unique setting allows Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida to provide a profound learning experience that is aligned with the Rebbe’s visionary directives, as well as practical hands-on experiences.

A stellar Yeshiva setting deserves a top-notch leader. As the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yoseph Wernick brings decades of experience and a sterling reputation for excellence as a teacher and principal in both traditional and innovative settings. His familiarity with innovative educational approaches means every student can maximize his potential. As Rabbi Wernick observes, “with small class sizes and warm, caring Hanhola and staff, every Talmid at Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida is a whole world, not just a number.”

Having most recently taught in the Shluchim Online School, Rabbi Wernick has earned the trust of talmidim and parents alike.

“Rabbi Wernick truly cares about his students and their success. His extensive experience mentoring faculty and catering to each individual student’s needs make him an ideal match for Yeshivas Lubavitch of Northwest Florida,” states Misha Leah Bertch, Founder of Dror Acres, Dror Kehilla, Inc. non-profit, and administrative lead for the Yeshiva. “In addition to being a proven educator, Rabbi Wernick is a skillful administrator with a keen sense for quality, team building and fiscal responsibility.”

Prior to their current positions, Rabbi Wernick and his wife moved 6 years ago from Melbourne, Australia to Central Phoenix where they led a Yeshiva and preschool, respectively. They have 11 children KA”H, and the younger sons will be attending Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida.

Applications are now being accepted for the 5786 School year for Shiur Alef Bochurim as well as 8th grade/Mechina.
