On Motzei Yom Tov, the New Haven community gathered for the levaya of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Kalmanson, zt”l, esteemed Rosh Yeshiva of the Lubavitch Yeshiva of New Haven. With deep pain and respect, talmidim, friends, and community members paid their final respects to a beloved teacher and leader who devoted his life to Torah, chassidus, and shaping generations of students.
Today, the levaya will pass 770 at 3:00 PM, with kevura at 4:15 PM at the Old Montefiore Cemetery near the Ohel.
Rabbi Kalmanson’s sudden passing on the first day of Rosh Hashanah leaves a tremendous void in New Haven and beyond. His dedication, warmth, and scholarship will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
