A new, highly popular Yiddish weekly is taking the heimishe world by storm.

A Chassidisher Farbrengen is the first of its kind weekly publication that presents the foundational teachings of chassidus in a down-to-earth way for Yiddish-speaking communities worldwide.

“Since the start of Dor Hashvii,” Rabbi Levi Ginsberg, founder and editor-in-chief, tells Anash.org, “Chassidus has been translated into nearly every single language on the planet: English, Hebrew, Russian, Spanish, French, and even Chinese and Braille.

“One language, however, was sadly left almost untouched: Heimishe Yiddish, a language spoken by hundreds of thousands around the world.”

For the first time ever, this vast audience is no longer being ignored.

The magazine, produced by Neiros Lehuir – an organization founded by Ginsberg and dedicated to bringing the clarity of chassidus to every Yid around the world – is called A Chassidisher Farbrengen, a name that says it all.

“We don’t just publish the original text of a maamar,” Ginsberg says. “We farbreng about it and bring it to life in a highly engaging format, alongside chassidish stories and real-life experiences. It allows the reader to see Chassidus not just as an abstract intellect, but to see it as a guiding light of clarity in our everyday life experiences.”

The weekly magazine is, first and foremost – true to its namesake – a Chassidishe farbrengen in print. Each issue brings the authors together around a theme, whether it’s the week’s parsha or a date on the calendar, such as Yud Tes Kislev or Chanukah.

A central section is devoted to a Chassidish story, either recounting an inspiring tale of the Rebbe or of a chossid living according to the ideals of Chassidus. Other columns include a sicha or letter of the Rebbe, as well as short quotes from sichos and letters, thoughtfully interspersed and interpreted throughout the issue.

Everything is presented in a clear, engaging, and accessible style, with beautiful design, color, and modern typography, making Chassidus and the darkei hachasidus both geshmak and easy to read.

What started as a one-man operation quickly grew into a staff of several yungeleit who invest time and energy meticulously choosing, writing, and editing relevant content that uplifts and inspires its vast audiences around the world to discover their unique light and shine as active partners in preparing the world for Moshiach.

“We started with distributing the gilyon in the shuls of Boro Park and Monsey alone,” he says. “But the feedback was so overwhelmingly positive that we felt the need to expand it further.”

To date, it is being distributed weekly in Boro Park, Williamsburg, Monsey, Lakewood, London, Manchester, Antwerp, and Yerusholayim. As he shares, they keep getting more requests from additional communities.

“I’m a Visnihtz chossid living in Boro Park,” one reader shared with the editors, “you can’t imagine what this gilyon does to my avodas Hashem.” Another reader said, “This is mamosh a lifesaver,” while many others told how they share what they read at the Shabbos table and beyond.
