Mrs. Zahava Golda Markowitz of Bnei Brak, Eretz Yisroel, the matriarch to a large Chabad family and the mother of R’ Nochum Markowitz of Crown Heights, passed away.
Mrs. Zahava Golda Markowitz of Bnei Brak, Eretz Yisroel, the matriarch to a large Chabad family who was dedicated to the Rebbe’s mivtzoim, passed away on Friday, 8 Elul, 5783.
After her marriage to Rabbi Yitzchok Markowitz, the couple settled in settled in Bnei Brak. She devoted herself to Chesed work and was wholly dedicated to the Rebbe’s 10 mivtzoim.
She was the sister of legendary chossid and mashpia Reb Reuven Dunin.
She is survived by her children, Chaya Rubinstein – Bnei Brak; R’ Nochum Markowitz – Crown Heights; R’ Yechezkel Markowitz – Tirat HaCarmel; R’ Duddy Markowitz – Netanya; Liora Rivkin – Kfar Chabad; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The levaya will be held Friday at Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim with burial at Har Hazeisim.
