Mrs. Gittel Karp, 78, AH

Mrs. Gittel Karp, originally from Crown Heights, passed away today, Yud Daled Kislev, in Yerushalayim. Her levaya will take place in Eretz Yisroel, and shiva will begin in Crown Heights on Tuesday.

She was 78.

Mrs. Gittel Karp’s husband is a well-known sofer and originally owned a store when they lived in Crown Heights. Her brother, Rabbi Moshe Klien is also a Sofer as well as a community activist in Crown Heights.

She is survived by her husband, Rabbi Pinchus Karp, her daughter Rivky Esterson, and her children and grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings: Rabbi Moshe Klein (Crown Heights); Rabbi Chaim Klein (Crown Heights); Rabbi Menachem Klein (Frankfurt, Germany); Rabbi Yankel Klein (Postville, IA); and Mrs. Shaindy Schapiro (Eretz Yisroel).

The Levaya will be in Eretz Yisroel with Shiva taking place here in Crown Heights at 1582 Carroll Street, starting from Tuesday afternoon until Friday.
