An overflow crowd filled the Berger Auditorium to celebrate the 44th Siyum Harambam. Shluchim, Anash, bochurim from Tomchei Temimim, and Tiferes Bochurim gathered to take part in the special program.

Sruly Misholovin served as the emcee and welcomed everyone to the event, which began with a video of the Rebbe. Mendel Rothstein shared a ‘d’var malchus’ from the Rebbe on the importance of learning the Rambam and the significance of the Siyum

Binyomin Karpelavitch, one of the bochurim studying in Tiferes, shared his personal experience of learning Rambam during high school. Peretz Piekarski, a student in the Cheder, then made the Siyum on Sefer Hamitzvos.

Rabbi Sholom Spalter made the Siyum on the Rambam, followed by Rabbi Yaakov Wagner, who made the ‘haschala’ and began the Rambam for the 45th time.

After a festive meal, a special video presentation about learning Rambam was shown. Rabbi Mendy Herson, the head shliach to New Jersey, then spoke about connecting to the Rambam and its relevance to daily life.

The guest speaker was Rabbi Leibel Schapiro, the dean of the Yeshiva Gedola Rabbinical College of Greater Miami, and Rabbi of Congregation Beis Menachem. Rabbi Schapiro spoke about the importance of learning Rambam, the Rebbe’s revolutionary initiative of Takanos Harambam, and the connection between the Rambam and Chassidus.

“The Siyum was very empowering,” said Menachem Moritz, a bochur in Tomchei Temimim. “Listening to the various speeches inspired me to start learning three perokim every day.”

“The Siyum was a great success,” said Yitzi Lunger, a bochur from the Tiferes program. “I took upon myself to learn the daily Sefer Hamitzvos with a friend!”

The Siyum was held in memory of Rabbi Moshe Herson, the head shliach to New Jersey and dean of the Rabbinical College of America, and Rabbi Shneur Zalmen Wilschanski, the Rosh Yeshiva at Tomchei Temimim of Morristown for over 45 years.
