Mivtzah Matzah Has Never Been So Convenient

Looking to do something meaningful for Yud Alef Nissan? Chabad of Sheepshead Bay will provide you with shemura matzah and a short route, allowing you to make a difference in the lives of local Yidden.

As Pesach approaches, Crown Heights families are being offered a powerful opportunity to turn the busy season into something deeply meaningful.

Chabad of Sheepshead Bay and “Lampternshtik” are once again launching their large-scale Mivtza Matzah campaign, inviting Anash, yungeleit, temimim, and school girls to take part in bringing Yiddishkeit to thousands of Yidden in the area. Building on the tremendous success of past years, the initiative continues to grow, with this year’s goal set at an unprecedented 5,770 Shmurah Matzah sets in honor of the Rebbe’s birthday on 11 Nissan.

Last year alone, 5,000 families were reached. This year, the organizers are pushing even further, ensuring that every Yid in Sheepshead Bay has the opportunity to experience Pesach properly with michla d’meheimnusa.

Everything is prepared to make participation simple and seamless. Volunteers receive pre-packed three-matzah sets, clear routes, and exact addresses. With just a short 30-minute drive and less than an hour on the ground, each participant can personally deliver matzah to 20–25 families.

For many in the neighborhood, especially those who grew up in the former Soviet Union, Pesach awakens powerful memories and emotions. Even those less connected throughout the year often feel a strong pull to the Yom Tov, making this a uniquely impactful time to reach out.

Organizers emphasize that this is more than just a distribution effort.
“What better gift can we give the Rebbe for 11 Nissan,” they say, “than helping more Yidden eat Shmurah Matzah this Pesach?”

Families are encouraged to join together, giving children a chance to experience firsthand the joy of helping another Yid do a mitzvah, while taking part in a growing movement that has already brought matzah to thousands.
