Mivtza Torah Launched at 770 as Winter Zman Begins
The new Kvutza of 5786 gathered in Getzel’s Shul for the launch of a Mivtza Torah learning program, dedicating the new zman to focused and diligent Torah learning.
With the start of the winter zman, an opening rally was held for the annual Mivtza Torah, attended by hundreds of the new Talmidei HaKvutza in 770. At the event, words of inspiration were shared by Rabbi Shlomo Zarchi, member of the hanhala and mashpia in the central yeshiva at 770, followed by Rabbi Shmuly Avtzon, mashpia in the yeshiva.
As the winter zman began, the Mivtza Torah administration, under the auspices of Vaad Talmidei HaTmimim, organized this opening gathering to encourage and strengthen learning among the new kvutza bochurim.
The speakers emphasized the virtue of limud haTorah and the importance of utilizing one’s time in 770 to the fullest. After them, Mendel Gopin—one of the Mivtza Torah organizers—outlined the campaign’s details, through which participants who successfully pass tests in nigleh and chassidus will receive generous stipends.
Mivtza Torah was established several years ago so that all Talmidei HaKvutza can sit and learn with diligence and consistency, free of outside concerns. To this end, the bochurim study and are tested on set material in nigleh and chassidus, and they receive scholarships of up to $180 per month – an amount that enables them to remain fully focused on their learning without distractions.
This effort is encouraged and supported by Chabad yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel, as well as by the yeshiva here in 770.
The scholarship program is made possible thanks to the generosity of many Chassidim, who deeply value the Torah study of the Talmidei HaTmimim during their Kvutza year in the Rebbe’s daled amos hakdoshim. May they be blessed from Above with revealed good in a clearly seen and tangible way.
Surely this brings nachas ruach to the Rebbe, and will hasten his hisgalus with the coming of Moshiach Tzidkeinu, before our very eyes, teikef umiyad mamosh.
