Mesivta Bochurim Organize Australia’s Largest Tank Parade

An impressive fleet of 14 fully outfitted Mitzva Tanks beautifully set up with large, eye-catching signs and lively niggunim moved through Melbourne’s busiest shopping districts and Jewish areas, finishing off at Melbourne’s 770.

In honor of Yud Alef Nissan, marking the Rebbe’s 124th birthday, a vibrant and uplifting Mitzva Tank Parade brought an extraordinary sense of energy, pride, and Yiddishkeit to the streets of Melbourne—the largest Mitzva Tank Parade ever held in Australian history.

Organized by The Mitzva Tank Office—led by Mendel Aron, Sholom Schreiber, and Yosef Yitzchok Lipskier, dedicated bochurim of Mesivta Melbourne—the parade was a remarkable demonstration of weeks of planning, coordination, and determination. Their vision came to life in the form of an impressive fleet of 13 RVs/motorhomes and one van, which were transformed into an amazing parade of 14 fully outfitted Mitzva Tanks, each prepared with everything needed to spread mitzvos throughout the city.

Every vehicle was beautifully set up with large, eye-catching signs and powerful speaker systems blasting lively niggunim and upbeat announcements that filled the streets with excitement. Staffed by enthusiastic bochurim and dedicated drivers, the convoy moved smoothly through Melbourne’s busiest shopping districts and Jewish areas, spreading the light of Yiddishkeit, the Yom Tov of Pesach and the Rebbe’s birthday, finishing off at Melbourne’s replica of 770, the best replica in the world.

The impact was immediate and powerful. Bochurim of all ages engaged warmly with people on the street, offering opportunities to perform mitzvos on the spot. Over the course of the parade, an incredible 1,300+ matzos were distributed, helping families prepare for Pesach, while more than 124 people put on tefillin, many for the very first time.

Behind the scenes, the scale of the operation was equally impressive. The entire parade cost approximately $25,000, almost all of which was, Boruch Hashem, successfully raised from within the Melbourne Jewish community—showcasing a remarkable level of unity and support.

The sight of a full lineup of Mitzva Tanks traveling together through the city created a powerful and unforgettable public display. Music filled the air, onlookers stopped in amazement, and the message of Yud Alef Nissan reached far beyond the community itself.

This historic achievement stands as a testament to what can be accomplished with dedication, unity, and the Rebbe’s vision. It is truly an event that will go down in history—made possible with the Rebbe’s incredible brochos that guided every step of the way.
