Emergency personnel were at the Minnewaska State Park in Kerhonkson on Sunday evening, to rescue a Frum man that fell off a cliff.
Sources tell YWN that the man was on a hike with family, when he fell off the cliff. He may have been taking photos, when “sun glare” blocked his vision, causing him to fall.
Ulster County 911 as well as Catskills Hatzolah Paramedics worked on the scene for nearly two hours. The victim was first located, and rescue personnel worked together to have him lifted back to where Paramedics were staging.
During the rescue, major thunderstorms blew through the area, with winds ion top of the mountain as strong as 60 MPH.
At around 7:45PM the man was brought to the top of the mountain, and Hatzolah Paramedics were working on him.
He suffered serious injuries.
Minnewaska State Park is located in Ulster County and is a popular spot for hiking because of its views.
