A Suffolk County man has been arrested for allegedly stealing close to $200K from the business account of Chabad of Roslyn, New York, directed by Rabbi Aaron and Chanie Konikov.

According to a joint investigation by the Nassau County Police Department and the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, Rami Mohamed, 40, accessed the Chabad’s account over a two-year period and carried out 201 unauthorized transactions.

The total figure widely reported was $124,000. However, Rabbi Konikov later confirmed with Anash.org that the total loss was $183,000.

Mohamed, who had been hired by Chabad of Roslyn three years ago to perform minor carpentry work, was charged with second-degree grand larceny and is expected to be arraigned on Thursday, police said.

ChaBaD is non profit. After 2-3 years isn’t there an accountant who does the + &-‘s for your account.
How do you now see monies missing after all this time?

    Besuros Tovos.
