The bochurim of Yeshiva Ketana Lubavitch of London have just returned from a two-week retreat in Llandudno, North Wales, where they continued their learning and davening in a refreshing new setting — with more boys than ever before taking part.
Llandudno, a quiet seaside town nestled between mountains and overlooking the sea from the Great Orme on the Welsh coast, offered an atmosphere of serenity and seclusion. With clean mountain air and no city distractions, it was the perfect setting for young talmidim immersed in Torah and chassidus to focus on their ruchniyus, recharge, and strengthen both body and soul. The Chabad Retreat Centre, established specifically for hosting frum groups, served as the home base for the yeshiva’s summer trip.
The program was led by the Menahel, Rabbi Moishe Zavdi, and Maggid Shiur, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schtroks, with dedicated support from Avrohom Yitzchok Pink, Shmuli Tiefenbrun, Shneur Lazar, and Mendel Lewis. Throughout the trip, the boys maintained their regular seder and shiurim, all while benefiting from the peaceful change of scenery and invigorating air.
Shabbos was one of the highlights of the retreat, featuring heartfelt davening, uplifting seudos, and a spirited farbrengen that brought renewed chayus to the bochurim. The strong atmosphere of chassidus left a deep impression on everyone who participated.
Over the course of the two weeks, several rabbonim and guests vacationing in the area visited the retreat center and expressed their admiration for the bochurim‘s conduct and dedication. Their serious approach to learning, sincere davening, and respectful behavior made a strong impression, creating a genuine Kiddush Sheim Lubavitch.
In past years, the bochurim had the zechus of joining the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak to complete his minyan during the retreat. Although the Rebbe was unable to attend this year, his previous visits continue to serve as a source of inspiration and nachas for the entire yeshiva.
The retreat also included time to enjoy the natural beauty of Hashem’s creation — with beach walks, hikes up the Great Orme, and relaxed moments spent building friendships. Even these lighter moments were infused with achdus and a strong yeshiva ruach.
As the bochurim returned to London, they brought with them renewed energy, strengthened bonds, and a deeper sense of purpose — ready to enter Elul with enthusiasm and focus.
