For the first time known, a Lchaim celebration was held in the Rebbe’s shul in Paris, 25 Rue Rosiers, for photographer Mordechai Lubecki of Paris and Yiska Sarah Andrea of Jalisco, Mexico.
Head shliach Rabbi Mendel Azimov spoke warmly of Mordechai’s dedication to publicize those who do mitzvos through his photo-journalism, and bringing joy to everyone he meets.
The evening continued with a lively farbrengen that lasted for hours, joined by family and friends.
The correct address of the Rebbe’s shul is 17 not 25…
I have been to several L’Chaims at that shul and a few Brissin as well… I guess everyone wants to be the first…. Tzu G’Zunt
There were two primary shuls the Rebbe went to in Paris – 17 and 25. The Rebbe actually preferred 25 since it’s a small and humble shul where he didn’t get attention for being the Frierdiker Rebbe’s son-in-law. It’s also possible that the famous Gemara shiur took place at 25.
That answers your question about the first lchaim in the shul.
