Lubavitch Manchester Hosts Spectacular Menorah Lightings

Over 1,500 participated in two menorah lightings in Manchester including words of inspiration by Rabbi Daniel Walker of the Heaton Park Shul, the target of a terror attack this past Yom Kippur.

Lubavitch Manchester held two vibrant menorah lighting events to celebrate Chanukah, bringing the community together. Both events were organised by Soroh Smith with the help of Sruli Rosthein.

On Sunday, 14th December, a grand menorah lighting was held with over 500 people at Manchester City Centre in the Presence of the Lord Mayor and the Vice Chair of the Representative Council, chaired by Mr Phaivish Pink.

Rabbi Daniel Walker, head of Heaton Park Shul, the target of a terror attack on Yom Kippur, addressed the crowd with words of inspiration, and Rabbi Shmuli Lent lead recitation of Tehillim for all those in hospital after the Bondi Beach massacre in Sydney.

Highlights included Rabbi Dov Ber Klyne leading the 12 Pesukim with children and an engaging musical performance by Michoel Sholom. Doughnuts and prizes for children added sweetness and excitement to the occasion.

On Motzaei Shabbos, 20th December, an event with over 1000 people attending, took place at Halfway House, featuring fireworks, live music, doughnuts, and a prize for every child. The lively celebration created a warm and festive atmosphere for all attendees.
