A chazara of Reb Yoel Kahn of one of the Rebbe’s longest Shabbos farbrengens, missing until now, was just discovered and digitized in time for studying this week.

A long-lost chazara by Reb Yoel Kahn of the Rebbe’s farbrengen from Shabbos Parshas Pinchas 5745 has just been discovered and promptly digitized.

Chazaras after the Rebbe’s farbrengens were a vital link in preserving and transmitting the Rebbe’s words. It was from the Motzoi Shabbos reviews, delivered by Reb Yoel, that the hanachos were prepared and later published in Sichos Kodesh and Toras Menachem. Separately, Reb Yoel would record special chazaras on tape, enabling chassidim around the world to hear the farbrengen as well.

This farbrengen of Shabbos Parshas Pinchas 5745, which took place exactly forty years ago, is remembered as one of the longest Shabbos farbrengens of the Rebbe. Yet, for decades, the chazara recording remained missing, even as other recordings were digitized and shared online.

In a providential discovery, the cassette resurfaced among a RebbeDrive collection that had been set aside and nearly forgotten. With just enough time to prepare it for the week of Parshas Pinchas, the team digitized and uploaded the audio within 24 hours.
