Bochurim of Shiur Gimmel in Yeshiva Ohr Elchanan Chabad in Los Angeles united for a powerful mivtza in the weeks leading up to Yud Shevat, setting out to help 1,001 Yidden put on tefillin within a single month.
The campaign was undertaken under the guidance of their mashpia, Rabbi Yossi Klein, together with Hatamim Shneur Zakaria, and was dedicated in memory of Rabbi Eli Schlanger Hy”d, the devoted shliach from Bondi who was known for his tireless efforts to spread mitzvos and inspire Jewish pride, especially through the mitzvah of tefillin.
Working together with dedication and enthusiasm, the bochurim went out on mivtzoim and encouraged friends, acquaintances, and community members to put on tefillin.
By the end of the month, they had not only reached their goal but surpassed it, helping a total of 1,026 people put on tefillin, paying tribute to Rabbi Schlanger’s memory and making a fitting preparation for Yud Shevat.
