Rabbi J.J. Hecht once posed a profound question to the Rebbe: “Since Machon Chana is your mother’s home, when is she here?” The Rebbe’s response was heartfelt: “Since the girls are continuing in her footsteps, her presence is always here.”

From its very inception, the Rebbe’s vision for Machon Chana was clear. When the property was first acquired, he insisted that renovations be conducted to the highest standards befitting his mother. Founded in 1972 in response to the Rebbe’s call to establish institutions honoring his 70th birthday, Machon Chana became the first women’s Baalas-Tshuva Yeshiva in America. It has stood the test of time, providing authentic Jewish education to countless women across generations.
