The relationship between the Rebbe and Machon Chana is one that stands out in its depth and significance.

Rabbi J.J. Hecht once posed a profound question to the Rebbe: “Since Machon Chana is your mother’s home, when is she here?” The Rebbe’s response was heartfelt: “Since the girls are continuing in her footsteps, her presence is always here.”

This reflects not just a connection to the past, but a living legacy that resonates in every corner of Machon Chana.

From its very inception, the Rebbe’s vision for Machon Chana was clear. When the property was first acquired, he insisted that renovations be conducted to the highest standards befitting his mother. He advocated for china over plastic cutlery and expressed his wish for a chandelier that honored his mother’s dignity. Each detail underscores the deep reverence he held for Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson and the values she embodied.

Founded in 1972 in response to the Rebbe’s call to establish institutions honoring his 70th birthday, Machon Chana became the first women’s Baalas-Tshuva Yeshiva in America. It has stood the test of time, providing authentic Jewish education to countless women across generations.

Machon Chana continues to illuminate the beauty and power of Torah, Judaism, and a Chassidic life to dozens of women each year, through its classes, Farbrengens, warm chassidic atmosphere, infused by the spirit of its namesake, ensuring that the legacy of Rebbetzin Chana lives on through the women it serves.

As we reflect on this incredible legacy and the ongoing mission to guide Jewish women towards a life of full commitment, we turn to you for your support
