A new book by Long Island shliach, Rabbi Tuvia Teldon, titled “Your Unique Purpose,” stems from Rabbi Teldon’s personal journey following the passing of his son in 5751. The book, which is based on authentic Chassidus, is published by Kehos and will be available after Pesach.
Kehos Publications is set to release a new book after Pesach titled Your Unique Purpose, by Rabbi Tuvia Teldon, regional director of Chabad in Long Island. Based on 36 selections from HaYom Yom, the book presents a structured approach to discovering and fulfilling one’s personal mission in life, as outlined in the teachings of the Rebbe.
Rabbi Teldon carefully selected these 36 entries and arranged them into eight chapters, each focusing on a different aspect of our unique purpose in this world, with introductory notes and commentary.
The book follows the success of Rabbi Teldon’s 5770 publication, Eight Paths of Purpose, which was written for a more secular, “Long Island-style” audience to provide tools for better fulfilling their purpose. That book stemmed from his personal journey of grappling with purpose following the passing of his son in 5751. However, “Your Unique Purpose” is tailored for a frum audience and contains many more original insights from Chassidus.
“For years, I always felt that HaYom Yom is rich with powerful lessons about how we can better fulfill our purpose as Yidden and as Chassidim”, Rabbi Teldon explained. “One day in 5783, I decided to delve in and see if there were enough daily entries to make a solid presentation. After selecting 36 that seemed especially relevant, I spread them out on my dining room table and arranged them into eight cohesive chapters. I was surprised by how smoothly and broadly the ideas flowed, all focused on ‘your unique purpose’ in life.”
The upcoming release, designed by Spotlight to resemble a notebook for easy reading and note-taking, is expected to arrive from China after Pesach. It includes inspiring stories and teachings from the Rebbeim, reinforcing key messages about our personal and collective purpose.
The chapters cover topics such as the journey of the neshama, finding purpose in daily activities, transforming the world, and hashgacha pratis.
Rabbi Teldon looks forward to seeing how the message will impact readers. “This book is the culmination of a long-held vision,” he said. “I hope it will provide meaningful guidance to those seeking to understand and fulfill their unique role in the world.”
