Yeshiva Gedola Lubavitch of London celebrated a siyum on the Mesachta learned this year. They were joined by their Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Hertz who visited for the first time since the lockdown.
Yeshiva Gedola Lubavitch of London celebrated a very monumental occasion this week.
In honor of the completion of the Masechet learned throughout the year and completed just now in the summer zman, a Siyum was organized during the 9 days and close to the end of the zman.
“This siyum is extra special” Rabbi Mendel Gordon commented in his speech, “As the learning of the mascheta was completed over three different tekufos’, pre-corona in Yeshiva, during Corona everyone in their own homes and now Baruch hashem back in Yeshiva (under special circumstances).”
Rabbi Gordon made a special mention of Rabbi Leibish Heller, over the fact that he had been giving a Chulin shiur over the Corona period via Zoom, including Friday afternoons!
Rabbi Leibish Heller, maggid shiur in the Yeshiva, gave a lively shiur in Hilchos Talmud Torah, which the Bochurim have been learning throughout the zman as well.
Hatomim Aron Vogel (ben R’ Nuchi) made the Siyum where he gave a beautiful Pilpul on the topic of Toiroso Umnusoi.
The occasion was made extra special by a visit from the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Hertz. Rabbi Hertz visited the Yeshiva for the first time since the lockdown and addressed the occasion from his car, which was strategically parked right next to the patio doors, which allowed him to join the siyum in person.
