Through innovative education, technology, creative arts, and self-discovery tools, Jewish Girls Unite, a global community empowering future mothers and leaders since 2014, has been providing an online safe space for girls and women to unite and inspire each other.
The 6th Annual Celebration this SUNDAY will celebrate Jewish daughters worldwide; honor females using their talents to illuminate the world. The online program will feature inspirational presentations including a concert with Tzirel Liba Mittzmann, an art show by Chana Cotter and Chana Laber and stories and prayers to uplift us.
The first Annual Celebration in 2015 launched a new website and online programs sponsored by Linda and Ory Schwartz, dedicated supporters, in honor of their daughter Meirah’s Bat Mitzvah in Irvine, CA and honored women and girls.
The 2020 Woman of Valor honorees are as follows:
MARION GREENBERG: JEWISH MATRIARCH AWARD. Marion is a role model with her positive approach to life. She also uses her artistic abilities to spread joy and unite women.
CHANA COTTER and TZIREL LIBA MITZMANN will receive the CREATIVE EDUCATOR AWARDS. Chana, a retired educator, is a longtime art-instructor for JGR campers and an illustrator for the JGU Press. Tzirel Liba is the founder of the Shabbos Queen Project, as well as a singer and songwriter whose compositions inspire a love for Shabbos and faith in Hashem.
CHAYA (nee LABER) SHEPHERD, CHANA LABER, SHAINA LABER, RAIZEL LABER and RIVKAH LABER will each receive the SHINING STARS LEADERSHIP AWARDS.
The quintet of sisters were nominated for their key devotion to the mission and success of Jewish Girls Unite. Chaya, a previous program director, and cook, now serves as JGR admin. Chana is the current JGR program (and art) director, who spreads Chassidic teachings through her art on Instagram @laberoflove. Shaina is a proficient videographer, editor and producer for JGU, and she also heads hospitality. Raizel is the retreat kitchen manager, a skilled chef, and baker whose Challos are distributed weekly to locals for Shabbat, and she has a knack for graphic design to top. Rivkah is a gifted photographer and a devoted member of the JGU team.
Jewish Girls Unite invites women and girls worldwide to join the celebration and think about what you can do to illuminate the world during these times.
