Just over a week ago, during a special meeting between a delegation of Chabad leaders and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, Netanyahu was gifted a rare set of Tanyas printed during the First Lebanon War in 1982 under the direct instruction of the Rebbe.

Visitors to Netanyahu’s office have been surprised to see the Tanyas prominently displayed in his office. Close-up photos of the display show that they come from the collection of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Aharonov, with a plaque bearing the following inscription:

To the Prime Minister

Mr. Benyamin Netanyahu

A blessing for victory over all our enemies.

These sacred Tanya books were printed under the special directive of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in the midst of the Lebanon War, in the cities of Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, to provide strength, courage, and victory over all the enemies of Israel, ‘with a strong hand and an outstretched arm,’ as it is written, ‘The Lord will fight for you, and you shall be silent.’
