Early Tuesday afternoon, a large cache of weapons was discovered in the orchards near Kfar Chabad, prompting a rapid police response.

Orchard workers found the weapons during routine maintenance and immediately alerted emergency services. Community officer Itzik Sarabi and the council’s new security officer rushed to the scene, while multiple police units were deployed to secure the area.

Officers from the Central District, together with border police and National Guard forces, confiscated numerous M16 rifles as well as components for handguns and rifles. The seizure followed a report by a worker who had noticed suspicious bags in the orchard near Ramla.

All confiscated items were transferred to the Israeli Police’s criminal identification laboratories for further evidence processing.

Authorities say the weapons reportedly belonged to a Bedouin family living in orchards near Kfar Chabad. Local residents have long complained about gunfire in the area. This is not the first incident, and residents are urging the authorities to take stronger action to end the ongoing problem.
