Large Tent to Host Hei Teves Seforim Fair in Crown Heights

In a major development this year, a large tent will be set up outside 770 throughout the week of Hei Teves for the massive Seforim Fair.

Every year, in light of the Rebbe’s directives, tens of thousands of people attend the Seforim Fair to purchase seforim and Jewish books, often at significant discounts. A large portion of the sales traditionally takes place at 770, where many tables and stands are set up to accommodate the thousands of buyers.

As the crowds have grown over the years, selling inside the shul has become increasingly difficult due to the many farbrengens, minyanim, and other events. This year is even more challenging, with Hei Teves falling on Thursday and numerous kriyas hatorah minyonim expected in the usual areas where seforim are sold.

To accommodate the large crowds and ensure all seforim are sold in one place, a large, well-organized tent will be set up on the service lane of Eastern Parkway outside 770.

Fully heated and comfortable, the tent will host all seforim sales, allowing everyone to browse and find the books they are looking for easily, without getting in anyone’s way.

“The Rebbe always wanted there to be a massive Seforim Fair – for Hei Teves, and indeed in many places that is what there is. Now, finally, we are bringing it to headquarters at 770,” organizers told Anash.org.

The tent will stand from Wednesday at 12:00 PM until Friday morning at 9:00 AM. Vendors will be active throughout the day and long into the night.

The gabboim have clarified that no seforim will be sold inside the shul itself.

Each (6-foot) table is $150. Two tables are $300, three tables $450, and so on. To reserve a table to sell seforim, reach out to 770 administrator Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Kratz.
