At a siyum on Maseches Shabbos learned as part of the Daf Yomi cycle that was held in Lakewood this week, two Lubavitcher maggidei shiurim were among the speakers.
The siyum was held by the Tzeirei Hadaf organization, which offers many resources and shiurim for those learning Daf Yomi. The siyum celebrated the tens of participants in the program who had spent the last 157 days studying Shabbos, even as the coronavirus pandemic changed the world as we knew it.
Invited to address the crowd were Rabbi Chaim Schapiro, menahel ruchni of Morristown Yeshiva and head of the Morristown Smicha program, and Rabbi Fishel Oster, magid shiur in Oholei Torah, and teacher of a popular Daf Yomi shiur in Crown Heights.
In his speech, Rabbi Schapiro noted that the siyum was being held on Chof Av, the yahrzeit of Harav Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, father of the Rebbe. Rabbi Schapiro related some of the teachings of Harav Levi Yitzchak and told of his messiras nefesh for Torah and mitzvos.
