In a landmark session at the Knesset dedicated to Taharas Hamishpacha, Tel Aviv shlucha Mrs. Esther Piekarski presented the successful Pure Helpline by Mikvah.org, advocating for the establishment of a helpline to support Hebrew-speaking women worldwide.
In a landmark moment for Jewish women and family purity, the Knesset held a full session dedicated solely to Taharas Hamishpocha, with members of Knesset and the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset in attendance. This summit, held on Daled Tammuz, brought together leading speakers and advocates from around Eretz Yisrael, marking a historic step forward in awareness, education, and communal support for this foundational mitzvah.
Among the presenters was Mrs. Esther Piekarski, shlucha to Tel Aviv and a founding member of the pioneering Pure Helpline by Mikvah.org. During the summit, she presented the success and necessity of the helpline, which has already fielded over 1,500 calls from women across the United States, Australia, and other countries. The helpline has proven to be a vital resource, offering women a listening and understanding ear, addressing both halachic guidance and the personal dynamics surrounding these sensitive areas, under Chabad Rabbinic auspices and with the ability to facilitate easy access to Rabbonim for Halachic Shailos.
Mrs. Piekarski advocated for the establishment of a Pure Helpline in Israel under Mikvah.org.il, to support Hebrew-speaking women worldwide. With thousands of shluchim and community members connected to Israel, there is a growing need for a system based in Eretz Israel that can serve the global Hebrew-speaking community with a similar level of Halachic support.
The summit also featured additional Chabad speakers, including Rebbetzin Bruria Ashkenazi, who addressed the significance of 50 years since the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s campaign for Taharas Hamishpocha, a campaign that emphasized the importance of Mikvah education, the building of beautiful mikvaot around the world, and the foundation for the organization of Mikvah.org today.
Mrs. Chanie Bloy, manager of the Israel-based sister site of mikvah.org.il, presented eye-opening statistics about challenges due to operational inefficiencies, and she encouraged the modernization and improvement of mikvah systems across Israel to make the experience more user-friendly.
This summit on Daled Tammuz was a historic moment, as it marked the first full Knesset session devoted entirely to Taharas Hamishpocha, with wide participation from Chavrei Knesset and the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset. The event not only elevated the importance of family purity in public discourse but also spurred meaningful initiatives, including the call to expand the Pure Helpline and support women in Israel and around the world.
