The Chabad yeshiva located in Kiryat Gat in the South of Eretz Yisroel sent all their students home on Monday, following a barrage of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip by terrorist groups.

Dozens of rockets were fired at Israel on Monday, following a number of tense days that began with riots in Yerushalayim. The Hamas terror organization claimed responsibility for the attacks, which came shortly after the expiration of a deadline they had set for Israel to remove their security forces from Har Habayis and the Shimon Hatzadik neighborhood.

In many cities in the south, and even as far as Yerushalyim, residents scrambled to bomb shelters when air raid sirens went off on Monday afternoon. With the IDF preparing for a possible escalation, a number of cities in the South have announced that schools will be closed until further notice.

With rockets continuing to rain down, the administration of the Kiryat Gat Yeshiva, located in the South of Eretz Yisroel, decided to evacuate the bochurim to safer locations.

Bochurim who lived in Eretz Yisroel were instructed to go home, and those from out of the country were encouraged to find accommodations in safer areas.

“A small number of ‘chutznikim’, who had nowhere to go remained in yeshiva, with the hanhala’s permission,” one American bochur told Anash.org. “The yeshiva’s bomb shelter has enough room for the small crowd, and those bochurim are not in any danger.”
