Construction work on Kingston Avenue between Eastern Parkway and Union Street has been completed, easing traffic flow in one of Crown Heights’ busiest sections.

In a statement, Vaad Hakohol of Crown Heights said:

“Thanks to ongoing advocacy by Vaad Hakohol, the City has now installed a detour sign on Carroll Street, redirecting traffic to help prevent congestion from building up at President Street — a request we’ve been pushing for, and we’re glad to see it implemented.”

The Vaad Hakohol remains in contact with the Mayor’s Office, the Department of Design and Construction (DDC), and the contractor team to ensure that the remaining phases of the broader infrastructure project stay on schedule and are completed before Tishrei.

As part of the ongoing work, starting Friday, (July 26), the alleyways leading into Kingston Avenue between President and Union Streets will be closed at Kingston during work hours, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, for approximately 1–2 weeks.
