King Charles Visits Site of Manchester Shul Terror Attack
On Monday, King Charles III visited the site of a Yom Kippur terror attack in Manchester where he was greeted by local rabbi and shliach, Rabbi Daniel Walker.
On Monday morning, King Charles III, king of the United Kingdom and British Commonwealth, visited the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in Manchester, paying respects at the site of a deadly terror attack that struck the shul on Yom Kippur.
The attack claimed the lives of Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, while three others were seriously injured. The attacker, identified as 35-year-old Jihad al-Shamie, was shot dead by police at the scene.
The king was greeted by Rabbi Daniel Walker, shul rabbi and local shliach, who guided him through the site, stopping at floral tributes left in memory of the victims, before entering the shul.
Inside the shul, Rabbi Walker thanked the king for his support and recited the bracha “Shenosan mikvodo l’basar vadam,” said upon seeing a monarch. Also present was the UK’s Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis.
