Keep an eye out: A popular candy bears an unauthorized UMK hechsher and are not certified by the kashrus agency.
Rabbi Menachem Piekarski of the UMK kosher certifying agency told Anash.org that corrective measures are being taken.
“Chewy Lemonhead & Friends manufactured by Ferrara Candy Co. bear an unauthorized UMK. The only Ferrara products certified by the UMK are Atomic Fireballs and Jawbusters/Jawbreakers, any other items are not certified by the UMK,” he said.
