JLI Director, Litvishe Maggid Shiur Headline Kingston Siyum
The Kingston Anash community gathered for a central Siyum HaRambam, featuring guest speakers Rabbi Efraim Mintz, Executive Director of JLI, and Rabbi Shmuel Flamm, a maggid shiur at Yeshivas Beis Moshe in Scranton.
Dozens of men, bochurim, and children from the Kingston Anash community gathered for the central Siyum HaRambam, celebrating the completion of the 45th Rambam cycle and the beginning of the 46th cycle, as learned by Yidden around the world in accordance with the Rebbe’s takanah.
The event was beautifully set up at the Beis Moshe shul, with a lavish seudah and festive meal, celebrating with great joy the conclusion of kol haTorah kulah – b’rov pe’er v’hadar, in accordance with the Rebbe’s request.
The siyum featured a prominent lineup of speakers who addressed the gathering. Rabbi Efraim Mintz, Executive Director of JLI and a Crown Heights rabbi, traveled from New York to speak at the event. Rabbi Itzik Yarmush, Editor-in-Chief of Chayeinu, which has to date helped tens of thousands around the globe learn Rambam daily, also addressed the siyum.
The shliach of the Rebbe to the Wyoming Valley, Rabbi Tzvi Perlman, spoke and shared with the crowd about the first Siyum HaRambam in the area – long before the recent explosion of the local Anash community – held in nearby Wilkes-Barre with Rabbi Kasriel Kastel of Tzach.
Rabbi Shmuel Flamm, a prominent maggid shiur at Yeshivas Beis Moshe in Scranton, also addressed the gathering, speaking about achdus Hashem and Moshiach.
The official siyum on the entire Rambam was made by the community rav, Rabbi Gedalya Oberlander, and the beginning of the new cycle was started by Rabbi Mendy Majeski, rabbi and mashpia of Cheder Sheini.
The event was masterfully led by Rabbi Zushe Wilmovsky, who urged those present to strengthen their commitment to the Rebbe’s takanah of learning Rambam in one of the three cycles.
