The Jewish Children’s Museum hosted its 19th Annual Golf and Tennis Celebration on Monday, July 21, at Cold Spring Country Club in Huntington, NY. Nearly 200 friends and supporters came together for a full day of golf, tennis, great food, and great company — all in support of the Museum’s vital work.

This year’s honoree was Ira Gordon of Land Appliance, a longtime friend of the Museum whose energy, humor, and heart have left a strong mark on everyone around him.

“This event is about more than raising funds — it’s about the people who keep this mission alive,” said Mendel Spalter, Director of Development. “Ira brings a kind of presence that fills the room. He’s a force — and he’s got the heart to match.”

Guests enjoyed breakfast, barbecues, cigars, the beloved “Rabbis on a Knish Cart,” an exciting auction, cocktails, and a lively dinner reception.

“Ira’s the guy who keeps things real — spirited when it counts, generous when it matters, and always there when you need him,” said Matt Engel of Langsam Property Services, event co-chair.

Mark Engel added, “There’s a spirit to this outing that keeps people coming back. Ira embodies that. He’s got a way of bringing people in, making them feel welcome, and pushing things forward.”

With deep thanks to Ira, our chairmen, committee, and the entire community of friends and sponsors, the JCM looks ahead with pride and purpose.
