After visiting the Ohel today, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Jewish Heritage, Rabbi Meir Porush, made a special visit to Oholei Torah Mechina in Crown Heights, where he spoke to the bochurim about the parsha and about shleimus ha’aretz.
On Thursday, Oholei Torah Mechina was honored with a special visit from Rabbi Meir Parush, esteemed Knesset member and close friend of Chabad. Rabbi Parush joined the bochurim for Mincha and afterwards delivered an inspiring address in Yiddish.
He spoke warmly about his deep personal connection to the Rebbe, as well as the close relationship his father, Rabbi Menachem Parush, shared with the Rebbe. He also recounted stories of his grandfather, Rabbi Moshe Porush, and his memorable visit to the Frierdiker Rebbe in Riga – offering the talmidim a powerful glimpse into a legacy of dedication and leadership.
Harav Parush emphasized the importance of Shleimus HaAretz, and conveyed how the talmidim’s learning in Yeshiva brings bracha to the Yidden in Eretz Yisroel. He expressed his admiration for the bochurim’s efforts in limmud haTorah and was visibly moved by the passion and commitment of the talmidim.
In a touching moment, Rabbi Parush was presented with a beautiful photograph of himself with the Rebbe from a visit in 5750, which he deeply appreciated.
He remarked on the timing of his visit – coming from Chodesh Adar and preparing for Yud Aleph Nissan, Yom Haboir – encouraging the students to continue their hachana for Yud Aleph Nissan which includes learning Gemara Be’al Peh and Rambam.
It was a memorable visit and a special opportunity for the talmidim to honor a distinguished and devoted Yid whose life is infused with the Rebbe’s vision.
