At the conclusion of his high-stakes diplomatic visit to the United States, Israel’s Minister of Defense, Mr. Yisrael Katz, made his final stop before returning to Eretz Yisroel with an emotional late-night visit to the Ohel in Queens, New York.

Earlier in the week, he visited the Pentagon in Washington, where he met with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. The two reviewed “a wide range of regional and strategic issues” and agreed on concrete steps to deepen bilateral security cooperation and ensure that “Israel thrives and the Middle East becomes a better, safer place for both Israeli and American interests.”

During that meeting, Katz publicly thanked the United States for its lead role in Operation Midnight Hammer, the joint U.S.–Israel strike that crippled Iran’s nuclear facility at Fordow. He expressed “Israel’s deep gratitude for the historic Operation Midnight Hammer, which struck a devastating blow to Iran’s nuclear program,” and gave special thanks to President Donald Trump for his “bold decision and unwavering leadership” in authorizing the operation, a mission targeting sites that Israel could not reach on its own.

Accompanying him on his visit to the Ohel were Rabbi Zalman Zevulonov and Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Wolowik, the Rebbe’s Shluchim to the Bukharian Jewish community. There, he offered tefillos for the success of the Jewish people and the IDF soldiers in the war, and for the return of the captives.
