Injured Shliach Leads Hakafos from Hospital Bed
Despite being seriously injured while serving in reserve duty in Syria, Rabbi Liraz Zeira, the Rebbe’s shliach with Chabad on Campus in Yerushalayim, led hakafos shniyos from his hospital bed at Shamir Medical Center.
Rabbi Liraz Zeira, the Rebbe’s shliach with Chabad on Campus in Yerushalayim and a reserve major (Rav Seren) in the IDF, was severely injured when he stepped on an old Syrian mine during reserve duty in southern Syria. The explosion caused serious injuries that led to the amputation of both his legs.
Undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at Shamir Medical Center, Rabbi Zeira led the traditional hakafos shniyos on the night after Shemini Atzeres from his hospital bed. Holding a Sefer Torah, he danced with family members, visitors, and hospital staff who gathered outside the medical center.
Earlier, during Chol HaMoed, Rabbi Zeira encouraged patients and staff to fulfill the mitzvah of the daled minim, bringing the joy of Sukkos to all those around him.
Please continue to say Tehillim for Liraz Tzvi HaLevi ben Sora Yehudis for a complete and speedy recovery.
