Imagine being an IDF soldier, guarding alone on base overlooking the Israeli-Lebanese border on Purim day. Every year, thousands of IDF soldiers remain on duty all over Israel on Purim, far from their families, protecting Israel.

You can make a difference!

As Purim approaches, Chayal El Chayal is kicking off its annual IDF Purim Project in memory of Yisrael Suissa Z”L, bringing the joy and spirit of Purim to soldiers stationed on base.

The IDF Purim Project ensures that these brave men and women don’t miss out on the joy of Purim. Volunteers travel across the country to deliver Mishloach Manot, read the Megillah, and celebrate with the soldiers, that are watching over us on Purim.

Last year, thanks to generous donors and volunteers, over 6,000 Mishloach Manot packages were distributed to soldiers, including those stationed in Gaza and other high-risk areas. This year, the IDF Purim Project is aiming even higher, with a goal of reaching 10,000 soldiers.

How to Get Involved

Communities around the world can support the project in three impactful ways:
Sponsor Mishloach Manot – Each hand-packaged gift costs $18.
Sponsor a Delivery Car – A dedicated vehicle to distribute packages costs $3,600.
Children’s Involvement – Kids can write heartfelt letters and draw pictures to be included in the Mishloach Manot (letters can be sent to Purim@chayalelchayal.org).

“The soldiers protecting our homeland deserve to feel the warmth of Purim, even while on duty,” said Mordy Botnick Director of Chayal El Chayal. “This project is our way of showing appreciation and bringing them a moment of joy and connection.”
