An incredibly moving event took place last week in Atlanta, Georgia, when dozens of men gathered to put on tefillin with the very tefillin of Bar Kuperstein, who is still being held hostage in Gaza.
The tefillin had been sent to Atlanta by Bar’s mother, who specifically requested and pleaded that as many people as possible should come and put on tefillin with her son’s tefillin, and pray for his immediate release. Rabbi Yossi New, head shliach of Georgia, coordinated the bringing of the tefillin to Chabad Houses in the state.
The event took place at the Chabad House for Israelis run by Shliach Rabbi Menachem Gurary. The participants gathered for an evening of unity, where they also said l’chaim together and joined in heartfelt tefillos for the release of Bar and the rest of the hostages still in captivity.
